Shipping Payment Samples
You must have a confirmed
address in paypal for your order to go through. This protects you and
us. If you have a problem placing your order, please phone us
with your credit card information, and we'd be happy to process it here.
All orders are charged on
your credit card at the time of purchase.
*If you've added something to your shopping cart, and you are trying to get back to your cart - locate the icon on the bottom of your screen, click on it, and it should bring your shopping cart window to the front of your screen again! When you locate fabric you'd like to purchase, click on the "add to cart" button, the first "add to cart" button is for full yard cuts. If you'd like 2.75 yards of fabric, you'll select 2 yards under the full yard area, and 3 under the quarter yard area. You will receive a continuous piece of fabric from the bolt. If you order 1 quarter yard of a fabric, it will be shipped as a fat quarter
which is approx 18" x 22", unless otherwise instructed. If you want a
regular quarter yard off the bolt, please send a separate email after you place
your order. If we don't have the quantity of fabric that you are requesting, you will be contacted via email and asked if you would like a different fabric, or if you'd like to have a refund. If you have any questions about how much of a particular fabric is available, please email prior to placing the order and we will be happy to check inventory! If a fabric is only sold as a full yard, or if it states "for x amount available" please don't ask for a lesser cut. At this point, it is sold "as is" for the price offered. RESELLERS: PACKAGING:

Pricing (and our global economy) The price of cotton has gone up substantially. There is a shortage of cotton yarn right now due to bad crops overseas last year. Most cotton is grown in China, Pakistan, and India. Because of the shortage in cotton, many mills have reduced or closed business. This means that the mills that are staying open can and will charge what they want. This raises the price for the consumers. As we purchase our inventory, we are given a price per yard - and this price has continued to go up and up. In turn for us to stay in business and provide you with great customer service and fabric you want, we need to gradually increase our price to allow for this global shortage. It's easy to learn more about this if you google "cotton shortage China" or Pakistan. The articles explain it well. It's difficult to know how long this will go on, and if the prices will drop when better crops become available. Most of us saw gas prices rise, then come back down. Let's hope that we'll see the cotton prices come back down soon. Meanwhile, we'll do our best to keep pricing for you as low as possible. Shipping & Handling (United States) All packages are shipped via Priority Mail through the United States Post Office. Please add the following amount to your order for shipping/handling. These are our standard charges which are automatically added when you place your order. If your order is over 315.00 we will email you if additional postage is necessary. The US Postal Service raised their rates in January. Effective immediately these are the new shipping charges:
Shipping & Handling (International) International shipments are sent via Priority Mail through the United States Post Office. We use the flat rate Priority envelopes. Approx 6-7 yards of fabric fit into one envelope. Paypal should add the right amount of shipping, but if it is incorrect I will either invoice for the difference, or refund if you over pay. (IE: if it charges you for 2 flat rate based on the amount of fabric you order, but I can fit into one, then I will refund the additional shipping.) We will email you an invoice for additional shipping charges if they apply. If International shipping costs are not paid within 3 days of invoice, we will cancel your order - unless we hear from you otherwise. Sometimes we don't know how much shipping will costs until an order is actually cut and packaged. We will estimate high for the invoicing, and if we can get it into fewer flat rate envelopes we will refund the difference. International customers are responsible for any additional customs fees or taxes if applicable in their country. Please do not ask us to be dishonest on customs forms. We put the value you pay for actual goods on the form (minus shipping costs). We will not mark it "gift" as there are monies exchanged, and we value our integrity. The smallest flat rate envelope holds approx 6-7 yards of flat fabric, and our price is based on how many flat rate envelopes are required.. Flannel and fleece are bulkier and may cost more to ship. January 2010 The US Postal Service raised their prices for flat rate postage. Effective immediately these are the new shipping charges: International Canada

Paypal For your convenience we have
You can order two different ways:
If I am working with you to design and make a memory/memorial or 100 Good Wishes Quilt (www.originalquilts.com), I offer a 10% discount on any of the fabrics purchased on this site for your quilt.
If you would prefer to receive a sample before purchasing your fabric, we would like to offer that we do sell fat quarters or regular quarter yards cut off the bolt. Samples are only offered for fabrics that have the option of a quarter yard sales. (IE: no samples on sale fabrics). If you'd like a sliver off the bolt for a color match, we'd be happy to do this, but we do charge a shipping/handling fee for this. The price is $1.50 for shipping/handling, and $.50 per sample of fabric. Remember these are slivers cut off the bolt .25" in width. Please email with the style numbers you'd like, then we'll email you a paypal invoice to pay.
We hope you are 100% satisfied with our products and service. We have a 20-day return policy on items you are not satisfied with. Refunds will be issued once items are returned to us. Refunds will not be given for shipping & handling charges, and in the event there was free shipping, the shipping costs will be backed out of the refund. A 20% restocking fee is charged for returned items. Sale items and cut yardage may not be returned. Patterns and books may not be returned because of copyright laws. All returns must be in original condition and packaging. Returns that have a smoke odor will not be refunded. If an order is cancelled after it is placed, there will be a 20% fee (minimum $2.00). This covers the invoicing and cancellation time. Each order still needs to be invoiced, then returned in our system - so that the books match up at the end of the month! Even though you cancel, reconciliation (paper work) still happens! If International shipping costs are not paid within 3 days of invoice, we will cancel your order - unless we hear from you otherwise.
Many people ask if we can provide a discount or charge less for shipping. An Internet based business is much different than your local quilt shop down the street, hence why the pricing might be different. We'll try to explain so that it makes it easier to understand why we charge the amounts we do for our fabrics and shipping/handling. When an order is placed, we print a packing slip which then is read and input into our invoicing/inventory control system and we print two copies, one that is included in your order, and one for our records. We then need to find the bolt(s) in our inventory room (over 8000 bolts!) and cut the fabric. It is then packaged, weighed, and an address label is created with postage (more paper!) We then need to ensure it is delivered to the post office (either a scheduled pick-up, or a trip to the post office). Once the order is shipped, we then personally email each customer with their delivery confirmation number so they know the date and confirmation that the package was shipped. On orders with many quarter yards, it might take more time in the cutting room to fill your order! Oh, and we also need to transfer the payment/funds from the clearing house (Paypal.com or Propay.com) to our account - for us to get paid! With your local quilt shop on the corner, they may not need an elaborate inventory control system - if the bolt is there, the customer sees it, and they can purchase fabric from it. With an online business, when fabric is received, no one sees it until a photo is taken, the photo is color corrected to ensure the colors are as close as can be, then it is added to the inventory control system, and uploaded to the internet. Then once a fabric is sold out, it needs to be removed from the Internet so that more orders are not taken for that fabric. There are many hours of back-end work involved in such a business! If you are traveling to your local quilt shop to purchase, you are spending your own gas to get there (gosh it is getting expensive!) plus your time in locating the bolt(s) of fabric you'd like cut, and the transaction is done at the counter by putting it in a bag (no additional addressing or postage involved). When the the bolt is sold out, it is no longer available to sell (unlike an internet business where we need to take it off the site!) We pride ourselves in keeping an updated site for you to shop at daily. We try to get our new fabrics up quickly, and take down the sold out fabrics so you don't order them! Another point to ponder are gas prices - it costs more money for everything these days - more money for the manufacturers to get the goods they need, more money for shipping to get the goods shipped to us, and more money for us to ship to you. Since starting the business the cost we pay for fabric has gone up substantially - yet we have worked hard on keeping the cost competitive and low for our customers. Your local quilt shop also has free advertising in town - when you drive past it. We pay hundreds of dollars each month in print advertising in your favorite quilt magazines for you to know that we are here. So when you think that paying $8-10 per yard for fabric, plus shipping/handling is expensive, please know that we are just trying to cover our costs and make a small profit. We have this business out of the love of fabric, and quilting. It sure won't make us rich! We do hope that you now have a better understanding of our business, and we wish you the best in your Internet shopping experiences and quilting/sewing! And if you do place an order, and like our service - please tell your friends! If you are unhappy for any reason, please let us know, and we will do our best to remedy, but we know that we can never make everyone happy all the time. We can only do our best! Oh, and one more thing I am a married mom of a very busy toddler. I am the head buyer, bookkeeper, internet guru, advertiser, laundress, wife and soccer mom just trying to do my best! I've got more help now, Julie is our cutting room queen, but she also invoices and does some of the internet work. Cathy and Aletha both pull the orders and cut, and Karen ensures the packages all have the right address and postage for shipping but also cuts fabrics when needed - and she is probably who you will speak with if you phone us! There is no way this could all be done without a great team of women here at Bug Fabric!
