Welcome to our warehouse!
We are currently remodeling the warehouse to make more room for great
fabric! - check back often for updates!
Our History: Bug fabric started in 2001 with only a
few bolts of fabric in our home. We lived in Woodinville, WA. We soon
realized that every hallway, nook and cranny was filled with fabric. We
purchased a home with a warehouse on the property in October of 2005.
The warehouse wasn't finished inside. My husband worked hard to create a
room that had heat - and where I could work that would be protected by
the moisture of Washington State. It was small - about the size of a
bedroom, but we had racks and racks of fabric. Fast forward 3 years
later, we are busting our seams and no long fit inside that small room.
We've been working with an architect and the plans were approved earlier
this year. Many of you who have been loyal customers know that this
building was hit hard in a windstorm in 2006. You can always see the
storm photos by clicking here. And you can get a
better idea of the building and the surroundings by seeing the storm
photos also. Here is our update on the remodel:
 |
August 5, 2009: The walls were all sealed, the drywall
was all installed, and painted! They are painting the doors
here! |
 |
Cleaning the floor preparing it for the sealer. |
 |
Here's the room where my office will be! |
 |
Here's the front door - they have it masked to paint the trim. |
 |
June 30- July 1, 2009: (Day 7-8)
I know this looks weird, but the garage door is closed. The left
is a door out to the receiving area, and the window will look
out to the driveway when the garage door is open for business.
Do you see the little blue boxes? The electrician was here until
9:00 last night making outlets and running wiring for the lights
- so many decisions! |
 |
The stairs are in! |
 |
The electrical is hanging from the ceiling! Additional framing
and starting to put in plywood on one side of the walls. We're
waiting for the next inspection on the framing and the
electrical! |
 |
Nice bathroom huh? |
 |
June 29, 2009: (Day 6)
The second floor storage is framed, and the back wall and door
opening are happening! Over the weekend, we cleared out the
office, so they blasted the new door into the room - and the old
doorway will get sealed. |
 |
The plumbing inspector came and we passed inspection so the
whole was filled with concrete. (We are moving the shower back
about 2 feet to make room for a new door to the bathroom! |
 |
This photo is taken upstairs in the storage area. We've got a
window to see out down to my husband's shop - but mostly to
release the heat in the summer! |
 |
Ever wonder what it looks like inside the wall behind your
toilet and shower? Soon there will be a door into the bathroom
here!!! I know this must all look so horrid, but I am
getting so excited! |
 |
June 26, 2009: (Day 5)
The framing is starting - the walls are going up! |
 |
This will be a staircase going to the upper level storage. |
 |
June 24, 2009: (Day 3-4)
Yesterday the inspector came to inspect the footings for the
support walls. All was approved, and today the concrete was
poured! |
 |
They started prepping the upstairs, pulling back the wall, and
exposing the beam so that the new joists can sit on top of the
beam. Just to the left of the ladder you can see the outline of
the new door into the room. |
 |
A new window was added in the side room facing out to our
backyard. This will make it nicer to see outside!!! |
 |
June 22, 2009: (Day 2)
Since we're adding a second story for storage, new footings need
to be made in the concrete. So today was listening to a
jack-hammer! After the concrete was broken, then they remove the
dirt, dig down and put rebar in. |
 |
I thought I would post a better photo of the temporary move to
the garage. If you look back in a the cutting table, that is
Julie cutting orders! |
 |
Now the rebar is placed, and we wait for the building
inspector to show so that they can fill it in with new concrete. |
 |
The contractors also worked today on moving the shower. To do
this, they needed to move the drain and also all the water
lines. The shower will move over the top of this area, then a
wall will be built to close this off, then more water lines will
be put in so that a utility sink can be in our work area. After
all, I do love to dye fabric in my spare time - and I need a big
sink for that! |
